Mr. Rothey practices in the areas of personal injury, motor vehicle accidents and medical malpractice. Mr. Rothey was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in the South Hills. He graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Rothey worked as a court clerk in the Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas. During law school at Duquesne University School of Law, Mr. Rothey distinguished himself in several prestigious mock trial competitions, finishing as a national semifinalist at the Tournament of Champions Mock Trial Competition and as a regional champion and national quarterfinalist at the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition. Mr. Rothey was selected to represent Duquesne as the sole advocate at the invitation-only Top Gun Mock Trial Competition, which is regarded as the most elite mock trial competition in the country. As a result of his mock trial success, Mr. Rothey received a number of law school awards, including the Aaron J. DeLuca Award (given to “a hard-working student who shows great potential”) and the Katie Westbrook Award (recognizing his “clear passion for advocacy and the practice of law” and his “outstanding academic achievement with a particular focus on trial advocacy”). Mr. Rothey is the kind of passionate, hard-working advocate injured individuals need on their side to protect their rights.
