Lacey was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She attended Our Lady of Mercy and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic schools where she was the Alumna of the Year of both schools in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Lacey was a nationally ranked high school pole vaulter, who went on to compete as a scholarship athlete for Louisiana State University and Southeastern Louisiana University. She was a member of the 2012 SEC Track and Field Outdoor Championship team and was the 2010 Southland Conference Champion in the Pole Vault. She is a LSU Letter winner who is currently ranked number 3 on the LSU Track & Field All-Time History list in the pole vault. She was named to the All-Louisiana All Academic Team, All Southeastern Conference Honor Roll, All Southland Conference Athletic Team, and Southland Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

Before law school, Lacey was the official spokesperson for the Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and has been an advocate for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals from a young age. She also interned at the Nike, Inc. world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

Lacey graduated from LSU in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in English. She was a dual-degree student at LSU where she pursued her Master of Mass Communication, Juris Doctor, and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law, concurrently. She published her thesis, "NCAA Student Athletes and Defamation, a Case Law Study" in 2017 to receive her masters degree.

While in law school she served as the President of the Women Law Students’ Association. She was the Champion of the 2016 Opening Statement Competition and an officer of the Sports, Entertainment & Media Law Society, the Christian Legal Association, and a member of the Student Bar Association Academic Committee. She interned for the Honorable Judge James Brady. During her third year of law school, she was sworn in as a Rule XX Certified Legal Intern representing an indigent defendant before the Supreme Court of Louisiana.

Outside of work, Lacey is an avid runner who enjoys hunting and fishing. She also enjoys volunteering at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
