Attorney Koryn Sheppard has been practicing Family Law for over six years. She completed the San Diego Family Law College of Trial Advocacy program in 2012, an intensive six week course in Family Law Trial Advocacy issues. She has experience litigating military divorce and "father’s rights" advocacy. Koryn was nominated as a "Top Attorney" in 2013. Koryn has volunteered at the San Diego Law Library and FCS and participated in the Bill Handel Law Day. Koryn is working towards becoming a Certified Specialist in the area of Family Law and is also interested in becoming minor’s counsel. Being the product of a divorced family, Koryn is sensitive to the needs of clients and their children during a difficult time. Koryn’s approach to advocacy is settlement oriented whenever possible. However, she will not hesitate to work hard and zealously advocate for her client. She has an notable success rate in her cases. She attended California Western School of Law, where she was on the Dean’s List and graduated near the top of her class and received an "Amjur" (the highest grade possible) in several classes. She held leadership role in on-campus associations, including founding the first chapter of ATLA (Association of Trial Lawyers of America) at California Western. She had several articles published in the school newspaper, “The Commentary.” Her undergraduate studies garnered her a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her poetry has been published in literary magazines.

In her free time, she practices Muay Thai Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu, enjoys indoor rock climbing, and attends group fitness classes at her local gym. She is an avid reader of fantasy and fiction novels and poetry and started a women’s book club. Koryn follows the growing San Diego craft beer industry as a hobby. She enjoys travel, comic book art (which she proudly displays in her office), motorcycles, a variety of music, animals (especially tigers), the UFC, and hockey. She is the eldest of three sisters and is proud to say that each of her grandfathers, her father, her step-father, and best friend have served in various branches of the armed services. She proudly follows in her father’s and step-mother’s footsteps, who are also attorneys.
