| Description | Since his 1978 graduation from Notre Dame Law School, Mr. Short has immersed himself in criminal law and trial advocacy. Following a two year federal clerkship he spent seven years as a state court prosecutor, successfully prosecuting hundreds of felonies. Since entering private practice in 1987, he has devoted his practice entirely to criminal defense and professional misconduct cases. Mr. Short has obtained outright jury acquittals for his clients in more than thirty cases involving charges of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, child molesting, arson, environmental crimes, health care fraud, construction fraud, and other white collar offenses. Mr. Short has successfully defended medical doctors, lawyers, politicians, chiropractors, bankers, police officers, school teachers, registered nurses, stockbrokers, nursing home providers, and business executives. In recognition of his outstanding record of success, Mr. Short’s clientele is almost exclusively referred by other lawyers. He has been NBTA certified as a criminal trial specialist since 1988. |
