Jeff Silberman’s practice focuses on motion picture and television transactions where he has had the good fortune of representing people and companies involved in every aspect of development, finance, production, and distribution, from writers, directors, producers, and actors, to studios and networks, and from both a domestic and international perspective. He is also a literary agent, and represents a wide range of authors, including celebrities, journalists, novelists, neuroscientists, chefs, and other distinguished authors to secure publishing agreements and to license motion picture and television rights to their books. Among some representative transactions are a television license agreement and international distribution agreement for an HBO series, executive producer and talent agreements with AMC and SpikeTV, acting agreements with Sony and New Line, a worldwide distribution agreement with Paramount, international distribution agreements with the BBC, securing and negotiating publishing agreements with Simon & Schuster, Random House, HarperCollins, MacMillan, and Penguin Books, and negotiating option /purchase agreements for books with Fox, Sony, and a number of independent producers.
