JULIA C. STEPHANIDES is an associate at Outten & Golden LLP in San Francisco, and a member of the firm’s Individual Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Ms. Stephanides litigated individual and class action ERISA and civil rights matters at Feinberg, Jackson, Worthman & Wasow, LLP. Previously, Ms. Stephanides represented startups in corporate matters including formation, financing, and acquisition at Gunderson Dettmer, LLP. Ms. Stephanides received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2009, and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014.

While in law school, Ms. Stephanides ran a clinic that counseled social entrepreneurs working to create economic opportunity in their communities. The clinic focused on clients starting healthy food businesses in food deserts. Ms. Stephanides was a founding member of the Social Enterprise Project, which presented a groundbreaking symposium on legal issues faced by social enterprises from formation to exit, and a leader of Students for Economic and Environmental Justice (SEEJ). She also participated in the Community Economic Justice Clinic at the East Bay Community Law Center, advising cooperatives on legal matters including management, employment law, entity choice, and financing. Before law school, Ms. Stephanides was the founding legal assistant at the San Francisco office of civil rights and employment firm Sanford Heisler, LLP.
