Aury B. Stollow founded the firm in 1991. He has been practicing law since 1982, focusing on landlord-tenant, real estate, and commercial litigation, and business and real estate transactions. Mr. Stollow’s practice includes leasing for property owners, restaurants, medical and dental practices and ambulatory surgical centers. He also handles commercial and residential property transactions including the purchase, sale, and refinancing of buildings, houses, co-ops and condos. Mr. Stollow serves as counsel to co-op boards of directors and litigates for clients involved in co-op and condo disputes. He represents clients in various commercial matters, including the acquisition and disposition of business and professional health care practices, drafting of shareholder and partnership agreements, and in litigation of partnership and employment disputes, and discrimination claims. As featured in the New York Times on November 2, 2003, Mr. Stollow represented the tenants’ association at Cathedral Parkway Towers in litigation which resulted in a unique settlement in which the tenants of these Mtchell Llama buildings, through their tenants’ association, effectively took title to the buildings. In Bogoni v. Friedlander, Mr. Stollow successfully appealed to the Appellate Division, First Department, to reverse a jury verdict which found his client guilty of tortious interference with a joint venture agreement, assessed $825,000 compensatory damages and $1 million punitive damages against his client, and directed his client to convey title to the building located at 251 West 92nd Street, NYC, to the plaintiff. The appellate court reversed the jury’s monetary damage award in its entirety and declared the building the property of Mr. Stollow’s client.
