Heather Tabery began her legal career in 2009 as a litigation paralegal in Philadelphia, PA. In 2012, she moved back to Minnesota to attend law school at Hamline University School of Law. While in law school, she was an Associate for the Hamline Journal of Public Law and Policy, the President of the Environmental Law Society, and a representative-at-large for the Labor and Employment Law Association.

Heather spent the summer of 2013 doing a private practice externship at a Chinese-American general litigation law firm in New York City. In 2015, she partook in a judicial externship with the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings, and was subsequently hired as a Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior. During law school, she also worked at Teach for America as a finance assistant in Strategy Operations and Finance. She has a diverse legal background with a history of helping clients in employment law, trusts and estates, transnational commercial law, professional negligence, contract disputes, administrative law and civil rights issues. Since becoming licensed in 2015, Heather has worked on a wide variety of cases. Heather joined Engelmeier & Umanah in January of 2018. She looks forward to building on her employment law and trusts and estates background and enhancing her knowledge in those areas, as well as continuing to serve clients more broadly.
