Description Haran Tae joined the firm in 2016. She holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Government and Psychology from Cornell University. Her areas of interest include criminal appeals and collateral attacks, re-investigation of wrongful convictions, and civil actions for police and prosecutorial misconduct.

Prior to joining the firm, Haran was a Ford Fellow with the Center for Institutional and Social Change at Columbia Law School, where she analyzed issues affecting immigrants, veterans, and formerly incarcerated individuals.

During her time in law school, Haran served as co-director of the Rebellious Lawyering Conference, the largest student-run public interest conference in the nation, and also served as co-director of the Capital Assistance Project and the Arthur Liman Public Interest Program. She participated in the Capital Punishment Clinic, actively helping to represent a death row client on direct appeal. Haran was also a research assistant for Professors James Forman, Jr. and Fiona Doherty.

She spent her summers during law school clerking with the ACLU National Prison Project and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, assisting with class action litigation on conditions of confinement, voting rights, and economic justice.
