Nick Talvacchia, a partner in Cooper Levenson, P.A., serves as Chairman of the firm’s Land Use practice group. He concentrates his practice in land use, real estate development, environmental and economic incentive matters.

Practice Highlights

Land Use Approvals

Nick represents national companies in obtaining both local zoning and State environmental development approvals for residential, retail, restaurant and telecommunications projects throughout New Jersey. He also represents numerous developers and individuals in obtaining land use approvals for both residential and commercial projects.

Some of his recent projects include a $2.3 billion, 6.3 million square foot oceanfront entertainment resort; a $35.5 million ocean pier and retail entertainment project; and a 86,000 square foot national chain outdoor (hunting, fishing, boating) retail facility.

Redevelopment and Tax Incentives

Nick assists his clients in determining, assessing and obtaining redevelopment approvals and tax incentives. He reviews and negotiates agreements for redevelopment projects with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).

Nick has obtained a multitude of tax incentives for development projects. Some of his recent approvals include incentive grants of $261 million, $5.2 million and $4.8 million from the EDA and development grants of $17.5 million, $18 million and $9.3 million from the CRDA.

Member, Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Committee (2014- ).

Member, Board of Trustees of Atlantic Cape Community College (2001-2013), Chair (2009-2011), Vice Chair (2007-2008) and Treasurer (2005-2008).

Admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in 1988.
