Rhett is the President and Senior Partner of Tauber Law Offices. He has been practicing law for almost 40 years.Over the course of his legal career, he has handled many complex cases for clients in various areas of the law. He has significant experience with personal injury litigation, probate and estate planning, corporate law, municipal law, real estate, business transactions and general civil litigation. He has also represented the Town of Highland and the School Town of Highland for over 20 years, and has significant ties to the community. Early in his career, he was involved in the landmark case of Doe v. Renfrow while representing the School Town of Highland, which he successfully argued before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. That case continues to be recognized as legal precedent today.Despite his dedication and love for the law, the center of his world is now the gift of his five grandchildren, all born in less than two years! He is also very proud of the accomplishment of forming a law firm with his children.He is a 1971 graduate of Valparaiso University with a B.A. in Government and Spanish. He went on to receive his J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law in 1974, graduating magna cum laude.Upon receiving his J.D., he joined the American Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Four years later, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court in 1981.He was born in Hammond, Indiana and graduated from Highland High School in 1967. He is the proud father of four children: Tara, Justin, Brandon and Jared, and grandfather of five. He enjoys traveling with his wife of over 40 years, and he is also an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Cubs.
