Chris Tolbert graduated Summa Cum Laude from Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas with a Bachelor Science in Political Science in 2007. He completed his law degree at Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas in 2011. While in law school he competed in several advocacy competitions both locally and nationally, and received numerous awards for his performance. He was a member of Texas Tech law schools Board of Barristers, an organization that consisted to top oral advocacy students in the school. In 2009 he was a finalist in the Tom Hall Advanced Moot Court Competition and a member of two national mock trial and moot court teams, during his time at Texas Tech. After law school Chris Tolbert went on to complete an Masters of Law (LLM) Degree in Trial Advocacy at Temple Law school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tolbert began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in the State of New Mexico in 2011. After two years as a public defender, he entered into private practice and started The Chris Tolbert Law Firm, in 2013. He practices in the areas of Criminal, Family and Personal Injury law. Attorney Tolbert is also licensed to practice law in the United States Western District of Texas Federal Court. Tolbert has had several trial victories, namely in the criminal arena. He has tried cases on a multitude offenses including homicides and other serious felonies. Chris Tolbert prides himself on being a trial lawyer, an advocate for justice and is committed to training and developing young lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants.
