Attorney Jay Turnbach, our Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, holds a law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He has served as a former family law clerk to the honorable Thomas E. O’Brien, J.S.C., and worked as a municipal prosecutor and conflict municipal public defender multiple times.

Attorney Turnbach serves as an Early Settlement Panelist in the Court’s Matrimonial Early Settlement Program and as a mediator in the Court’s program for economic mediation. He also lends his services as a Guardian Ad Litem to the Court and a settlement conference facilitator in the Special Civil Part of the Ocean County Superior Court.

Mr. Turnbach has participated in litigation in cases resulting in published legal opinion. A few of his cases include: Leudekke v. Shobert, Peregoy v. Peregoy, Hawxhurst v. Hawxhurst, and Shea v. Shea. In addition, Mr. Turnbach is the author of "Benefit of the Bargain," an article published in the New Jersey Family Lawyer, which discusses the removal and relocation of children from the State of New Jersey against the wishes of a parent. He is also the author of a bi-monthly family law column in the Ocean County Woman magazine.
