My philosophy of law has evolved after almost 35 years of practice. For many years, my practice was exclusively focused on litigation, primarily through representing clients who suffered personal injuries. My approach to personal injury cases is to undertake diligent investigation, research and advocacy in order to achieve the best possible outcome for my client. Through this approach, my clients have received fair and just compensation for their injuries. Personal injury is still an active area of my practice. For the past twenty years, I have also honed my skills as a divorce and family mediator. I was initially drawn to the field of mediation so as to offer couples a less adversarial, stressful and expensive way to ending their marriage. I also find that mediation is a useful tool for couples with children, since it helps them develop more productive methods of communication that are helpful when co-parenting. And from my experience as a litigator, I understand the shortcomings of the adversarial process, particularly in the area of family law. |
