JEFFREY A. WEISSMAN, PRINCIPAL/SHAREHOLDER, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1994). Board Certified in Marital and Family Law and AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Weissman was recently named “2018 Family Law Lawyer of the Year – Ft. Lauderdale Metropolitan Area (Broward County & Boca Raton/Delray)” by The Best Lawyers in America. This is the third time in the past four years that Mr. Weissman has received this award, having also received it in 2014 & 2016. Mr. Weissman was once again chosen to be included in the 2018 list as a member of the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. A member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, Weissman was a former long- standing Executive Council member until reaching the 12-year term limit in 2016 and is a past Co-Chair of the Legislation Committee. He has been instrumental in the enactment of many family law statutes, authoring the parental relocation law, Section 61.13001, which became effective on October 1, 2006. Weissman is a past Co-Chair of The Family Law Commentator and The Florida Bar Journal, Family Law Section. Moreover, he has held important and prestigious positions within the Broward County Bar Association, completing a four-year term on the Board of Directors and is a past President of the Family Law Section. Weissman was afforded the distinguished honor of the Paul May Professionalism in Practice Award, an annual award the Broward County Bar Association bestows upon a community lawyer who exemplifies ethics and integrity in his day-to-day practice. He is a past Chair of 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee "A" of the Florida Bar, which is an entity authorized by the Supreme Court to regulate the practice and professionalism of lawyers within our community. Weissman recently was selected to become a Founding Master Member of the Palm Beach Chapter, Family Law American Inns of Court, which promotes professionalism and ethics in the legal system. Weissman limits his practice to complex matrimonial and family law cases.
