Luke P. Wiley practices in the areas of mortgage foreclosure, litigation, real estate law, evictions, housing and municipality violations, and mediations. Prior to coming to Kaplan and Associates, LTD, Mr. Wiley worked for a prominent Plaintiff’s law firm representing major national banking associations in foreclosures, evictions, housing violations, and mediations. While representing the banks, Luke litigated real estate foreclosure court hearings in over 15 counties throughout the State of Illinois, with a focus in Cook County. He drafted motions, pleadings, discovery, and participated in depositions and evidentiary hearings. Luke has engaged in more than 100 mediations focusing on loss mitigation in foreclosure cases. He has also negotiated numerous settlements with local municipalities in housing matters and municipal hearings.

Luke’s experience representing banks and lenders provides him with a unique perspective in defending homeowners struggling with mortgage foreclosure. He can identify issues from both the lender’s and the homeowner’s side of mortgage foreclosure cases.

While in Law School, Luke clerked for 1.5 years for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Felony Trial Division where he used his 711 License and honed his oral advocacy skills. He also clerked for Cook County judges in both the Felony Trial Division as well as the Civil Law Division. Luke also competed in the ABA Negotiation Competitions in 2013 where he placed second place in the Regional competition, before advancing and placing within the top ten at the National competition.
