Nancy Williams has been with Brayton Purcell LLP for over fifteen years and has served as an in house Managing Attorney for over twelve years. She is responsible for providing day to day counsel to associates, management and general staff and is integrally involved with strategy and planning and problem solving at various levels of the firm.

Brayton Purcell LLP is a long time litigation practice that is constantly developing strategies on how to best serve our clients. Ms. Williams supports that mission with her open communication style and ability to take a leadership role in making reasoned decisions quickly.

Ms. Williams was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa’s English department. She joined Brayton Purcell LLP after receiving her law degree from the University of San Francisco. While attending law school Ms. Williams worked with the University of San Francisco’s Mediation Clinic and handled a variety of matters wherein she assisted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Family Law Advisory Clinic, and the Small Claims Advisory Clinic.

Her legal career includes working for the Labor and Employment team of the United States Postal Service’s Legal Department in San Francisco where she handled matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Williams managed a group home for children with severe and profound intellectual and physical disabilities. She later managed a Planned Parenthood clinic. The education and advocacy components essential to those positions laid the foundation for Ms. Williams’s desire to obtain her law degree.

Ms. Williams is admitted to practice in the state of California and the United States District Courts in California. She is a member of the Marin County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
