Eric represents Oregon employees against their former employers. Eric handles a variety of employment cases in Oregon including sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, disability discrimination or medical leave retaliation, injured worker retaliation, pregnancy discrimination, and wage theft. Eric has over a decade of experience as an Oregon labor and employment law attorney and has successfully represented hundreds of Oregon employees during that time.

Eric is experienced in trial practice, arbitration, mediation and representation before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI). In recognition of his employment law advocacy, Eric has twice been recognized as a "Rising Star" in employment law by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Eric’s experience includes prosecuting tort claims against individual managers and supervisors for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual assault and false imprisonment.

Representative Cases

Sexual harassment: Prosecuted hostile work environment claims and claims involving unwanted sexual advances and sexual assault. Health & Safety Whistleblowing: Successfully represented employees terminated in retaliation for reporting hazardous and unsafe working conditions. Disability Discrimination: Litigated cases on behalf of Oregon employees terminated due to medical conditions and for requesting reasonable accommodations such as flexible schedules, late start times, days off and intermittent leave. Medical leave: Successfully represented Oregon employees terminated for taking medical leave to care for their own health conditions as well as for their sick children and family members. Injured worker retaliation: Prosecuted claims on behalf of injured workers who were wrongfully terminated for reporting their injuries, for filing a workers’ compensation claim and for requesting light duty work. Pregnancy discrimination: Successfully represented employees terminated on false grounds shortly after disclosing their pregnancies as well as cases where employees were terminated for requesting maternity leave and for missing work due to pregnancy-related illness. Wage theft: Litigated cases where Oregon employees were denied overtime wages and commissions and where employers forced employees to work off-the clock. Defamation: Prosecuted claims against employers for spreading false and defamatory information about employees following their termination. Intentional infliction of emotional distress: Successfully represented employees subjected to cruel and malicious treatment by their managers including racist insults, sexually degrading comments, or intentional exposure to hazardous workplace conditions. False imprisonment: Litigated cases where employees were unlawfully confined as part of their manager’s sexual misconduct and also cases where employees were detained and forced to sign false statements implicating other coworkers in wrongdoing. Sexual Abuse: Prosecuted sexual abuse claims on behalf of caretakers, patients, domestic workers and state employees who were subjected to unwanted sexual contact.
