Alice J. Wolfson has a proven record of success in bad faith insurance cases, with an emphasis on individual disability insurance policies. In the landmark case of Hangarter v. Provident (UnumProvident), which has become one of the most frequently quoted disability insurance cases, she and her legal team obtained a five million dollar punitive damages award for her client. Further, she obtained a unanimous verdict in the federal court in McGregor v. Paul Revere (UnumProvident). Both awards were upheld by unanimous appellate verdicts. Her preeminence among insurance attorneys has earned Ms. Wolfson regular speaking engagements across the nation, sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and other highly regarded organizations. Further, she has authored numerous articles about insurance law and is a past chair of the Insurance Law Section of the American Association for Justice. |
